Alrighty, welcome in ladies and gentlemen to another episode of the good old boys fantasy football Podcast. I am Derek and I am joined as always by your co host, Kevin Alex, because we’ve got a great show for you tonight. We’re gonna talk some NFL news. We’ve got a mock draft coming your way for redraft starting up and it’s gonna be a lot of fun. Make sure that you hit us up on the socials, your Twitter, Instagram, YouTube, Facebook twitch at good old boys FFC YouTube is the good ol boys fantasy football podcast YouTube channel and make sure you hit the LIKE SUBSCRIBE button on all of those things. But guys, let’s go ahead and get on over into the news. And you got Joe Burrow is in Cincinnati showing up for otas which is some good good progress there. You know who didn’t show up for otas was Aaron Rodgers and a lot of other Packers missed the otas at Lambeau Julio Jones. Trade rumors are heating up. The Shawn Watson still wants to be traded. Antonio Brown passes physical and signed his deal with the Bucs. And it looks like Jeff Driskel signed with the Texans. So guys, what are your thoughts around the news?
Kevin 01:24
The Texans are gonna have 15 quarterbacks on the roster by the time training camp officially starts, will there be are going to be dogshit
Alex 01:33
like by the by the end of the season? Will there be more dudes with a patch attempted or a patch caught on the Texans roster? That’s that’s the that’s the the futures bet that you should look into. And I don’t know that I would want any action from Excel. I’m not sure I know the answer right now. So, to me, there were a couple things that kind of snuck out over the last 24 hours involving all this. The first one was Shannon Sharpe, apparently just tricking Julio Jones on live television, to call him and ask him and say, Hey, are you playing in Atlanta next year on his cell phone? Mind you not telling the guy Hey, you’re on live TV right now? To say, I’m out? Sure. That’s great. The second thing is the Aaron Rodgers interview with Kenny Mayne last night, as we record this on Tuesday night, the Aaron Rodgers interview with Kenny main. There was some interesting things there. There wasn’t a lot, but there was some interesting stuff. And cool on that was good on Aaron Rodgers to participate in that. Because Kenny means the man and it’s a it’s a shame that he’s being forced out of ESPN. But you also weren’t going to expect because Rodgers was kind of doing Kenny made a favor, you weren’t going to expect the hard hitting questions out of Kenny man, especially on his last show. So there probably could have been some more pointed questions asked, but that’s not the time or place really at that point. And then the third thing is to Shaun Watson and I saw this today that he this this legal battle, nevermind the on the field stuff that he wants out of Houston, he doesn’t want to play for the Texans. But this legal thing is going to be hanging over his head for quite some time. I read today that he’s not even going to be deposed. Until 2022, there’s a lot of things that they have to work through the legal system takes time. It he may not even have to, you know, appear in front of a lawyer and give a deposition statement until after the season is done. But that doesn’t mean it’s going away, it just means he’s going to have that going on on top of an NFL season. So I mean, the more and more that I look at this situation, and I don’t know, I don’t know Deshaun Watson, I don’t know all of the ins and outs of the legal troubles that he’s going through. But I do know that they are human beings and human beings. Think about things other than football. And there are there is life that happens outside of football and sometimes that coat that can just like your eye, if something happens away from our job, you know, there’s a real strong possibility that we might bring it into the workplace and might affect our performance. So that to me is something that is concerning. Surrounding Deshaun Watson that this thing could be hanging over his head for an entire season. And that’s going to be hard for for him at least to maintain focus as just as a human being, let alone a an elite athlete that has to perform at the highest level and one of the most difficult positions in all of professional sports. So those those are the three things that stuck out to me when it came to the the new notes, but I did here on my way into work this morning, Albert breer was on with Dan Patrick. And they were talking about the Aaron Rodgers interview. And Dan Patrick floated out there. Hey, what if you just straight up trade, Jordan Love for Julio Jones. Now there would be some contract stuff that would have to work out. But then Aaron Rodgers doesn’t have to leave Green Bay, he gets a veteran wide receiver, which is what he’s been asking for. and Jordan Love gets out of town, it’s a win for the Falcons, because they all of a sudden have a quarterback for the future, since they didn’t draft for one this year. And Aaron Rodgers gets gets his receiver. Now I know it doesn’t work out in the books, the books, it doesn’t work, but kind of a fun thought thought.
Kevin 05:58
Yeah, honestly, it’s possible. I think what I learned from the interview is Aaron Rodgers is done in Green Bay. Like, there were people holding out hope that they can kind of get this fixed. It takes a little bit of reading between the lines, because Aaron Rodgers isn’t gonna come out right and say it, but when he’s talking about, he loves all these things, but it’s the culture and forgetting that people are human, like he’s talking right to the front office, like, there is no misconstruing those comments that he was talking about something other than the general manager, and the player, the director, Player, Player personnel there in Green Bay, like he likes everything else, except the people who are actually calling the shots in the front office. And I don’t see him coming back. And he’s proud enough that he will, I do think that he would retire, I think that he would step away, and let them sit on, you know, give whatever money back, he has to, he’s worth three times as much in endorsements and, you know, appearances and everything else. So, and that’s all fine. Well, and good. But that’s what I learned from the Aaron Rodgers interview. The Deshaun Watson thing is super interesting, right? Because, yes, he’s not going to be deposed until after the Super Bowl. Which, timing wise is interesting. But my guess is it’s they have something worked out to where he’s going to be the last one to post so you have these 22? Yes, I did see the Jeff Wilson news,
Derek 07:45
block management.
Kevin 07:49
So with Watson not being posed until after, I think he’s trying to be the last one to post so that way, nothing he says can turn around and be used in or around the depositions with the 22 accusers. And the hope that by the time it gets to him in February, everybody else kind of says, alright, that’s fine. Let’s Let’s, you know, make it public, like Watson wants, we’ll get our money lightly, whatever that is, and just be done with it. I still, the thing that’s up in the air is if he gets put on the commissioners list, right? Like that’s still, that’s still very likely, or just flat out suspended. So he in all likelihood, will not start the season. As a active member of the Houston Texans, one way or another. Either the commissioner is going to come down and say, hey, you’re going to sit or they’re going to find some trade partner, and move on and see what they can do about rebuilding that team. Because without the Shawn Watson they’re clearly the worst team in the NFL, and it’s, I don’t even feel like it’s that close. So, there was that. Moving along the Jeff Wilson news that our boys from clock management mentioned he tore his meniscus today, he’s out four to six months going into surgery. So your shares of Rahim moster, maybe you’re feeling a little bit better about that. I tell you whose draft stock is going up is Trey Sermon. So he is clearly in the back half of the first round now, in my opinion, and probably leaping Jalen waddle in a lot of cases, if you’re in a super flex, if you’re in a super flex rookie draft. So that’s gonna be super interesting to see how they hold out there in San Francisco because that is one position group that they always seem to have an injury or two around them. So Trey sermons going to be pretty much guaranteed to get some run this year, which, that’s what you’re drafting them for. So good luck to them. It sucks. Jeff Wilson because he kind of he did a really good job last year kind of coming onto the scenes, proving himself in a rookie or not in a rookie deal but in a prove it deal, and then got another extension here for this next year. So it’s a bummer that he’s going to miss the first part of the season, but I know he’s going to be fighting like hell to get back in and if he doesn’t stay in San Francisco try and get on somewhere else. So overall, the news this week was rather ho hum You know, I’m interested to see where Julio is gonna go. I don’t give a shit that Joe Burrow made it to otas he was carrying his helmet and he participated off to the side and some light jogging and soft toss like that’s a Joe Burrow did he was not going all in there like he showed up for morale. But other than that slow news week, but sometimes that’s a good thing because that means players aren’t doing things boneheaded that are causing themselves money and playing time and altering the fantasy universe as it will so this time of year slow news weeks don’t hurt my feelings because it means guys are doing the right thing. And they’re being professional about their offseason.
2021 Mock Draft
Derek 11:06
Absolutely. So guys, we are going to move on over into a 2021 mock draft. So each of us have taken a spot in a draft spot here. And we’re gonna get this thing kicked off and Alex is drafting from the 105. Kevin drafts and from the eight spot I’m drafting from the 11 spot, it’s a snake it is a redraft set up to be a PPR type of League there. And so we’re gonna basically go through when you get it, you got two minutes on the clock to explain your draft pick, make your pick and move it on to the next guy. And if you’ll shout out who was drafted in the positions in front of you, so let’s go ahead and get this thing going.
Alex 11:50
All right, that’s weird. That’s not at all. I thought this was play out but all right. So I’m at the 105 in front of me goes say Kwan Nick Chubb, Christian McCaffrey, then Dalvin Cook. I’m left with a choice between Alvin Kamara or Derrick Henry. I’m gonna go running back here. And there’s a story behind my relationship with Alvin Kamara and my relationship with their kendry and I I’m a little less gung ho on Alvin Kamara without Drew Brees in New Orleans now, so I’m gonna go with my more consistent feeling and I’ll take Derrick Henry.
Kevin 12:44
Alright, so six Davante Adams was the first wide receiver off the board. Alvin Kamara, one at the 107 good, I’m so glad Kumar went and went to seven because I didn’t want to have to choose between him and Jonathan Taylor. So it makes my decision super easy. So I’m gonna settle right in here at Jonathan Taylor at the 108
Derek 13:08
Alrighty, so at the 109 Zeke went and tyreke went and that puts me on at the 111 and I’m just gonna take some I never do and something that I just got done when we were talking about Tyler Higbee saying that I’m gonna wait until the 13th 14th round. I’m gonna take a positional advantage here with tight end and go with Travis Kelsey at the 11 and then at the 12 Joe Mixon went DK Metcalf one at the top of the second that it puts me back in here and it being super flex. I’m just gonna, I’m gonna do a stack right here and take Patrick Mahomes first quarterback off the board.
Kevin 14:00
Yeah, this is a little different than how some of these super flexes would pan out right? Because it’s so running back heavy but for the sake of going at it Kyler Murray, Josh Allen are out there. After Diggs and DeAndre swift when it at two, three and two, four. Running back pool is all right. Aaron Jones eckler Akers na ga Dobbins are kind of the running backs there, I could go receiver and get de hop who in my opinion is going to finish at wide receiver one here this next year. So I like the ability to do that and really solidify at least the top end part of my receiving I have a really bad tense waiting too long on quarterbacks in in Super flex leagues. So I’m going to go ahead and soak up Kyler and knock one of my quarterbacks positions offer.
Alex 15:03
Very good. So Najee Harris goes at the two six. Aaron Jones goes at the two seven. I’m on the clock here at two eight and Kevin, you’ve you guys have all kind of piggybacked off of the way that I like to go here and get a quarterback early. But I still think that there are some decent options. I have a feeling I’ll miss out on some pretty high end quarterbacks here. If I don’t go quarterback, but with D hops still on the board and the running back room. Not as attractive at the moment and where I’m picking. I’m gonna go DeAndre Hopkins here. So, Wow, she’s great. Come on, alright. So after I picked at the two nine, Austin eckler, goes at the 210. Cam. Akers goes to 11 is Dobbins to 12 is AJ Brown, three one Michael Thomas. That’s a little early I think for Michael Thomas, maybe not. Three, two is George kittel. Three Three is Josh Jacobs three four is Myles Sanders. I gambled and thought that I wasn’t going to be able to get the quarterback I wanted in the turnaround on the three that didn’t happen. So I will take Josh Allen here at the three five
Kevin 16:30
after Allen goes Jefferson goes at three six. Derek’s boy Antonio Gibson goes at three seven which is a bit of a bummer cuz he was a guy that I was eyeing right there in that spot. So as we we go through it here. Top receivers on the board, Calvin Ridley is the top receiver on the board. There are still tons of quarterbacks left out there so I’m not gonna push it at this point. If we were in a true superflex draft, you might have to start pushing it here towards the back end of the third round. But the way this boards falling I’m not gonna worry about it. So I am going to pick me up some Calvin Ridley and get me a part of that Arizona offense.
Alex 17:20
Atlanta offense you already got there it’s
Kevin 17:22
Yes. Sorry. Atlanta offense Atlanta and Arizona. Sorry that’s one
Derek 17:33
that’s what that’s why are you kidding me? Are you kidding me? Somehow muted myself in the middle of it. Wow. Wow. Wow is right. So Darren Waller than Julio and I’m left with a very interesting predicament because of the fact that I’m a little bit running back starved at this point. And the best running back on the board is ch and I already
Alex 18:03
shoe cheese players I think on my roster gonna be
Derek 18:06
Yes, it’ll be the Kansas City Chiefs.
Kevin 18:10
Do it. Do it? Ah,
Derek 18:13
I just Oh, all right. You only live once right? And it’s a mock draft. So ch m are all chiefs here. Then Evans goes then, Kyle, then Keenan Allen goes you know is Tyree kill available? Maybe I can still pick him up.
Alex 18:32
Not he might write for you, boy.
Derek 18:34
I know. But I am going to take a guy that had running back for finished last year. And go with David Montgomery here.
Kevin 18:48
All right, so Alan Robinson. Holy cow that Derrick that’s him in front of you is wide receiver center. Yes, Alan Robinson went in for three Lamar Jackson is going for four. here for five. I’m gonna go for some run here. I’m going Terry Maclaurin. I really liked the value that I can get right here and pairing him up with a Calvin Ridley makes me happy for my wide receiver room here to start the season.
Alex 19:20
Okay, this is very interesting All right. So after Kevin picks it at the four six Chris Godwin goes oh man I really like that team team seven looking really nice right now. For seven is Chris Carson. For a right now I have a running back I have a receiver I have a quarterback. So I’d really like to. I I’d be looking running back especially with the way that this board starting to play off where running backs are going fast and furious here and a lot of them have already gone. So I’m trying to look at where I would like to be my options right now. At the runningback spot, or James Robinson or Travis etn as the top two listed, and Kareem Hunt right behind that. So we’re talking about two guys that are going to be fighting for field position and the backup to the second overall pick in this draft. I don’t know that I like that. And I think I’ve got better options later on. So I’ll take a look over at the wide receiver room. And
Derek 20:41
Alex gonna have the clock run out on him.
Alex 20:44
Ah,
Kevin 20:47
you’re a Vikings fan. Your boy See I sitting there and you’re gonna pass on him.
Derek 20:52
Yeah, that’s waiting right there for you too.
Alex 20:54
And I’ll take Russell Wilson.
Kevin 20:57
Oh, there you go.
Alex 21:00
Yep. All right. So after Russell Wilson, Amari Cooper goes then feeling then DJ more than Robert Woods to close out the fourth round, started the fifth Cooper cup then James Robinson. Then Mark Andrews and Kyle pitsco. So a little bit of a tight end, Ron here
Kevin 21:17
this early for Kyle Pitts in a redraft format. Sure.
Alex 21:24
Sure. I tell everybody by that.
Kevin 21:27
Yeah. So everybody’s listening. This is too early for Kyle Pitts and redraft format.
Alex 21:32
And so now I I, I desperately need to look at running back and got fortunate that only one was taken since I last pick. And it was James Robinson. And I’m glad that they removed the question out for me, so I’ll go etn here.
Kevin 21:50
So etn goes there. golladay follows him at five six, Tyler Lockett at five, seven. Man Oh, man, there are some options out here. I could go Dak Prescott and go with the Kyler Dak quarterback run which would be pretty damn nasty in a superflex League if you can pull that off. for shits and giggles I’m going to punt that for the moment. And I’m going to go with one CD Lamb who I expect to have a monster season.
Derek 22:27
Yep, you just had to do that to me. Just had to. So then Melvin Gordon goes tomorrow chase goes. And I’m left with an interesting dilemma there because I was for sure thinking that I’d get CD lamb fallen back to me and Kevin made sure that that didn’t. So let’s go ahead and go with a another positional advantage here and I’m going to take the Dak Prescott move right here. Kareem Hunt goes Odell Beckham goes and I’m left with an interesting interesting position here from the standpoint that you’re gonna need a wide receiver at some point on this team. And I’m not that big a fan of putting a rookie as my first wide receiver, which is what a lot of the options out there are right now. But I’m going to take a guy with some with some upside and should have a big bounce back here in Courtland Sutton
Alex 23:20
use of a gun.
Kevin 23:22
So satin goes Lynn was super bowl Lenny at 6.3 Juju at 6.4. So now it’s back around now again for the super super flex context. quarterbacks left on the board Justin Herbert, Trevor Lawrence Joe Burrow Deshaun Watson Brady Stafford fields cousins in that kind of realm. And then I’m going to switch over I’m gonna take a peek at running back man, I really have to look elsewhere. I got to fill the position group I’m not like in love in love with what I’m seeing here which is kind of a bummer. tight ends aren’t TJ hawkinson I feel like that’s too early for me to go tight in. So I’m down to Herbert or miles gasket like that’s where my coin flip is at this moment do I want to get some running back help and at least be able to fill out the position? And I think at this time I have to I can get a quarterback later on who I can live with but I have to have some running back help here. So I am going to go miles Gaskin at six five.
Alex 24:37
All right, so after Gaskin is Dionte Johnson and then Justin Herbert goes at the six seven I’m up at six eight. Looking at my team, I have two running backs two quarterbacks and DeAndre Hopkins is my wide receiver. So wide receiver help would be hopeful to get a wide receiver but I’m still looking here and I’m seeing still some names that I would be okay with taking a little later on that I think will still benefit me again I have DeAndre Hopkins so there’s a lot of guaranteed points coming from the wide receiver spot anyways, anything else is a bonus. I don’t have a tight end, none of the tight ends are really drawing my ire here. So I think I’m going to go we have that wide receiver running back tight end spot. And I’m gonna take a guy that we we kind of just mentioned following our news and notes segment there and that is Raheem Mostert. So after moster Kenyan Drake goes at the six nine Javante Williams at 610 Davante. Smith at 611. Brandon IU closes out the sixth round started the seventh round David Johnson. Then Aaron Rodgers, Trevor Lawrence, and Jalen waddle at the seven for all boys. It felt right to me. At the seven five here I will take DJ
Kevin 26:22
Alright, so chart goes. Chase clay pulls seven six Chase, Edmonds is it seven, seven. Man so it’s just kind of seeing where we want to go here. hawkinson and fans are the top running backs available. Joe Burrow is still there as far as quarterback goes. rojo is there for the running back side. And so at this point in the draft, this is what you’re looking at of are you trying to build depth or are you trying to build a starting lineup that you think can truly decimate all and for this situation? I’m going with a starting lineup. I’m not going to be messing around I have all my starting and flex pieces filled out so when it comes down to it what we’re looking at here, I could go borrow but I don’t like his offensive line. I’m going to take Tom Brady in the second year of Bruce Arians offense because typically quarterbacks in their second year of Bruce’s offense. Go absolutely bananas. And it’s going to be hard to do better than 40 touchdowns. Tb 12 might be the guy to do it.
Derek 27:47
Yeah, you’re not kidding. Then James Connor goes TJ hawkinson goes so in the at the 711 sitting here with an interesting kind of makeup of this roster so far and I’m gonna take a guy named t Hagen’s. Then Hollywood brown goes Ronald Jones goes and I’m going to pick up a another running back here and Mike Davis out of Atlanta.
Kevin 28:15
I liked that Mike Davis picked there. I really do. Use the guy that I was definitely eyeball and trying to get some depth in that piece. piece of my lineup. So after Mike Davis Joe Burrow Brandon cooks so here’s kind of what the running back looks like as you’re getting into the middle of the eighth round. Zach moss Devin Singletary, Damien Harris, Michael Carter, Ken’s game well, Trey Sermon, Tony Pollard levy on Bell marking room out Santa Madison. It’s not too enticing after the seventh round guys like Derek and the other team. They’re at the top of the eighth we’re able to kind of get the last two there’s a massive tear break after rojo and Mike Davis. So we shall punt and we will see what comes our way after that. Jerry Judy Will Fuller Schulte sharkbait Bateman. I’m not necessarily loving any of those options and because of that, I will stack Tom Brady with no do I want to do that. No, I’m gonna go with no fat Nope. gronk went right after So I was thinking the same thing as the AI I don’t know if that’s a good thing or a bad thing.
Alex 29:40
Okay, well, that’s his second time I’ve had a Broncos player stolen from me. So after fat goes crocket the eight six Will Fuller goes at the eight seven should be told I was looking at do I fill out the starting lineup like Kevin was talking about or do I build some depth I will for the purposes of this fill out my starting lineup. best available tight ends right now our guest Seki excuse me, ICICI ertz. Ingram, Herb Smith and Austin Hooper Dallas Goddard still available as well. As is Logan Thomas. I will go with the I’ll take a sickie. At the ad at the eight nine goes to Shawn Watson at the 810 is Jerry Judy 811. Todd Gurley 812 is Jarvis Landry started the ninth round there’s Matthew Stafford going at the nine one at the 902 is Tyler Boyd 903. Rashard Bateman Leviticus You know, it goes at the nine four, I’m on the clock at nine, five, I will stay away from the tight end room and now we’re into building depth. That’s where I’ve moved into in this in this draft and I’ll tell you what, when it comes to depth and for the purposes of this, I’m gonna start looking at rookies and seeing what I can get out of them. Top rookie available is still Justin Fields, which is interesting kind of gain well, Michael Carter‘s available in terms of running backs. Rondo Morin quirinius saint Brown. I think I said his name right are the best two wide receiver rookies. I’m a glutton for punishment. So I will take Justin Fields as my third quarterback.
Kevin 31:40
So fields went then Zach Ertz. Then Jalen hertz, so a little bit of a quarterback tied in I guess, run there if you will. What’s going so as I’m looking through this building depth, I had really liked to add a running back but golly, do I not like the pieces that are left out there right now. And I think on just about everybody, I can wait and play that game and be just fine. So I’m gonna go back over at receiver Deebo Samuel or Robbie Anderson are kind of the top two options there. I am not a debo lover necessarily. I think Trey Lance will probably start at some point this season, but it’s probably not going to be until the back half. But I do like the Robbie Anderson connection and natural chemistry with Sam Donald. So I’m going to take a flyer on Robbie Anderson.
Derek 32:47
I really thought you were gonna snipe me again there because I had had debo queued up ever since that Mike Davis pick and I had Corey Davis Zack Moss go after Kevin’s pick. And I’m gonna take the debo Samuel here. Do you like the fact that I get a running back or not running a wide receiver that should see a lot of volume out there. If only he can stay healthy. Then herb Smith Goes then Kirk Cousins goes and it’s back to me. And at this point, we’re looking at depth free picks left and so it’s looking at depth and looking at things that could provide you some upside could provide you a little bit of pop. And with this one I’ll go with a guy coming into a second year that I think we’re gonna see some big things out of and that’s going to be Michael Pittman.
Kevin 33:37
I like that pic I was that’s exactly where I was looking as well. After Pittman goes Evan Ingram, Devin Singletary. So now we’re even further down the trash and what’s leftover in the running back room. I’m gonna go with Michael Carter. I don’t love drafting New York Jets. But he provides a little bit of intrigue and seeing what he’s going to be able to do there. And quite frankly, I need to have some guys to fill in on by weeks. So name Heinz would be a natural fit for a handcuff if I was a little bit better equipped in that position group, but I also need to be thinking about filling in for by weeks and everything there so I’m going to have to pass on Naeem Hines, and go with Michael Carter.
Alex 34:25
All right after Carter, Mikko Hardman goes at the 10 six T Y Hilton goes at the 10 seven. I need to look at receiver because I only have two on the roster. And there’s it’s time to start filling that room out a little bit. There are guys, Dante Parker is still available. Michael Gallup is available Rossendale more still available. But I am gonna go with no, I might be too soon. It’s probably too soon. It’s probably wait too soon to do this but he’s a guy that I’m targeting that I want on my team for purposes of his quarterbacks going to be slinging the football around out there on the east coast. So it this is a reach I am by no means saying that this is a great idea. But I’m taking Curtis Samuel.
Derek 35:18
Oh, that was that was who I was going with with in the 11th when it came back
Alex 35:22
around. Yeah, so that was maybe a little bit of defense that I played there as well knowing the the room that I’m in Dallas Goddard goes at 1009 Austin Hooper 1010, Damien Harris at the 1011 Robert Tonyan goes at the 1012. To close out the 10th started the 11th Ryan Tannehill, Michael Gallup, Matt Ryan and rondelle more picks one through four. I’m going to stay looking at the wide receiver room to vontae. Parker is still there.
Kevin 35:53
There’s a reason for that.
Alex 35:54
There’s a reason for that. I will go with a piece I already have. Nevermind. I will go with the rookie here. And take terrorists Marshall.
Derek 36:18
That was my backup to Kurdistan.
Alex 36:21
You’re welcome.
Kevin 36:21
All right. So Ken again, well goes I’m on Ross St. Brown goes to the 11.7. So I’m back in the same situation. And now that I’ve added Michael Carter name, Heinz is still sitting there and he’s the guy I was looking at in the 10th. I’m gonna go ahead and pick him up at the 11th and feel like I just got a round discount on him. So I’m happy with that.
Derek 36:41
Already and I was a little worried that you were going to go with the the other guy that I had queued up there after Alex let me on the the other two but Logan Thomas goes after devonte Parker goes and that leaves Trey Sermon still on the board. And I’m gonna do that with a little bit more running back depth there. I do like the fact that he got a little bump up that positional chart there with some of the Jeff Wilson news breaking earlier today. So Trey sermons, the pic in the 11th. Hunter Henry goes, then Tony Pollard goes and that puts me back on for my very last pick. And there’s lots of things that we could do here. And lots of different areas ago but usually about this time I you know, I like taking a little bit of a shot, trying to find a receiver that might pop. And we’ll take a little bit of an upside swing there for a guy coming into his second year in Chicago with Darnell Mooney.
Kevin 37:41
After Darnell Mooney, levy on Bell goes at 12 three, Zach Wilson at 12 four. I’m going to take a third quarterback at this point, I’m going to take a guy who I have big, big thoughts around this offense coming into 2021 to the point where when we did a show last Wednesday, I said that there would be three Colts receivers finish in wide receiver to territory. So this is the point where I’m going to grab Carson Wentz as a nice bye week fill in and quite frankly, if he gets off on a tear, I can acquire other pieces for him and really help out maybe some of my running back depth if a guy’s hurting at quarterback.
Alex 38:26
All right, Tyler Higbee goes at the 12 six Johnny Smith Goes at the 12 seven I’m not gonna take another quarterback here but I will take a running back that is intriguing in the fact that if and this is a biggie if the guy in front of him goes down, he’s he’s a very good piece that will insert himself into the lineup and can have close to the production levels that the starter would have. So I will take Alexander Madison here to round out my team after that Christian Kirk goes Jalen rigor goes Pat fryer Muth goes and Mark Ingram Mr. Irrelevant at the 12
Derek 39:13
Yeah, and it’s kind of funny to think about the fact that Mark Ingram is the Mr. Irrelevant when he was considered kind of the steal of most drafts last year going into it with you know, fifth sixth round type of capabilities and just didn’t pan out out there and so awesome. Well guys, like the like the teams all of that guys make sure that you you know, let us know on the socials who you thought won that draft who, whose team you liked the best out of all of those teams. Look forward to hearing your guys’s opinions on that one. But guys, any final thoughts for the listeners?
Kevin 39:54
No, sorry for the technical difficulties tonight. For whatever reason, the internet was not my friend. Specifically, it was terrible, and I apologize. But yeah, enjoy the drafts. There’s still a ton of rookie drafts going on, you know, just keep your ear to the ground for all the latest news and notes. And as always, if you have any questions over where your draft and what your draft and what you should be looking for, hit us up, let us know we’re more than happy to help out and at least create some dialogue around it for you.
Alex 40:28
Yeah, absolutely. One of my favorite parts about doing these mock drafts is going through and looking at some of these other teams, which should be the most fun anyways, but I clearly slot one tape together pretty decent team, but they weren’t listening to us earlier when we said one or the other with Robert Woods or Cooper cup, but as they went back to back picks with those guys, they might be happy with that. They also grab Matt Stafford as well. So triple stack for that. But yeah, we’ll go through and look at these and it’s a ton of fun. This is mock draft season anyways. So enjoy it. See how things shake out this one that we just did shook out a completely different way from what I thought it was going to go with the AI so get in with your buddies, do some mock skating with your buddies start some week’s fun time.
Derek 41:17
Yeah, absolutely. This is the perfect time of year to be doing mocks. It’s also a perfect time of the year to be doing some best ball drafts. And that’s one of the things that will help you guys out when you start getting around towards your redraft and really looking at how that comes to play. Yep, I apparently lost my voice right? on the
Alex 41:35
show. You can’t talk
Derek 41:36
